
Yoko is busy with her work and regularly returns home to take care of her mother, Chieko, who suffers from dementia, together with her father, Tadakatsu. Chieko's condition has been progressing rapidly in recent years, and she even forgets that Yoko divorced her a few years ago. One day, Yoko is introduced to a service called 'Rental Family' by her business partner. Yoko is puzzled by the unfamiliar service, but calls a rental husband to come to her home to do housework. Yoko finds a kindred spirit in Go Matsushita, the rental husband, and a child actor he knows, Shuri Yasuda, as the daughter... Chieko's dementia progresses day by day, Tadakatsu clumsily struggles to support Chieko, and Matsushita and Shuri take on the role of the rental family despite their complicated circumstances. Yoko spends time with the "family" around her and comes into contact with a new form of happiness.
