In 1995, while filming Enemy Shadow, Jade Leung suffered burns to her hand due to a mistimed explosion caused by the crew. She had to undergo skin graft surgery and spent several months recovering in the hospital. The experience left her understandably cautious about similar stunts afterward. Not long after, she decided to change her image and joined TVB, where she started acting in TV dramas. In 2004, she became well-known for her role in the popular series War and Beauty.
