He gained notice for playing the chilling character Kim Min-suk in the crime drama Life on Mars (2018), a role that highlighted his ability to portray intense, high-stakes figures. This led to similar roles, such as the prosecutor "Tak" in Delightfully Deceitful (2023) and Dr. Suk Min-Joon in the sci-fi thriller Train (2020).
