Love Brings Us Home is a portrait of the elderly couple Wies and Bert. Shortly after celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary, they must say goodbye to each other in unexpected ways; Wies’ memory is unravelling due to dementia, and she is not authorized to return home to Bert after a routine visit to the hospital. Now, for the first time in decades, Bert lives alone, holding onto each memory of their life together that Wies forgets. While his terminal cancer and his age-related disabilities make it impossible for him to visit Wies without help, he is confronted with the most difficult decision he has ever had to make.
