Through archival materials, the film tells the story of the bond between a man, Vittorio, and a boat, the Riccardo I. Their relationship develops against the backdrop of the profound changes that affected the Adriatic Sea and its coastlines in the twentieth century, marking the end of the ancient civilization of sailing. As a child, Vittorio was a cabin boy on his father's boat; in old age, he feels the need to preserve the world of his childhood. With stubborn determination, he decides to single-handedly restore the Riccardo I, the last vessel of its kind, dedicating himself to this endeavor until his death.

Why and how do we look at animals? Is it possible to use archive materials as if they were the involuntary testimony of a gaze? Archiving is, in some ways, the act of collecting gestures. Through the editing of fragments of documentaries, newsreels, and promotional videos, the film aims to make visible the complexity and stratification of a relationship that the more we consider natural and given, the more it reveals itself to be the product of economic and political—and therefore cultural—processes analogous to the human world.

Developed with ten students from JFK in Monselice, drawn from their second and third year high school classes specializing in agricultural and computer science, Fuggiamo lontano (Let's Run Away) is a film based entirely on archive material that tells the story of a journey through four stories of teenagers who imagine going to the place of their dreams with a loved one by their side: their dog, their brother, their mother, and their friend. The voices of Sara, Matteo, Serena, and Alessandro intertwine with seemingly distant images, triggering a space-time collision in which feelings explode out of time.

For me, places are people. Venice, tormented, fascinating, mysterious, is Giulio, his blue eyes, his disappearance, his ghost. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of the time his body was beside mine as we explored the island. Venice reawakens my memories with him and gives him back to me. Knowing that he has changed shape, that he no longer wears a human body, drives me to search for him everywhere. Yet I continue to believe in his desperate freedom, in his choice. The emptiness within me after his departure is a space I fill with what I encounter. I know only one way to combat pain: seek wonder. I will continue to do so, now also for him, now also with him.

Through the intertwined voices of three sex workers from Colombia, Chile, and Italy, this poetic and performative documentary unites their stories into a single poetic body, dissolving the boundaries of culture, history, and identity to reveal how the experiences of sex work are profoundly tied to the broader history of the female condition itself.

The Making of Night Bloom is an award-winning documentary about the creation of an immersive artwork led by Deaf artists from China and the UK. Winner of Best Documentary at Toronto’s Unify Film Festival, the film weaves creative process with powerful personal stories. It features Deaf Chinese elders who find connection through a vibrant Deaf club gathering beneath the trees of a city park, alongside young Deaf dancers carving out careers in a challenging mainstream world. Through Chinese Sign Language, movement and digital projection, the documentary reveals resilience, intergenerational exchange and the transformative power of Deaf-led collaboration across cultures.

Echoes Between Land and Blue Sky: The Lives of Mongolian Deaf Nomads documentary spotlights the lives of deaf herders in Mongolia, an overlooked community uniquely affected by climate change. Set against the backdrop of Mongolia’s breathtaking yet unforgiving landscapes, the film introduces herders who navigate the challenges of isolation, environmental shifts, and cultural preservation. The documentary is structured into four acts, each focused on a different herder family, interconnected by overarching themes of climate resilience, cultural identity, and social inclusion.
