The Zuquillos are four women who have worked for several years in a popular grocery market in the city of Quito, a place where they have cultivated a great friendship. One day, the entire market collapses due to its dire conditions, leaving the main characters without a place of work and in an agonizing situation about their future. So Charo decides to migrate to the United States, where his sister lives, but they deny him a visa at the American consulate. Desperate, she goes to a smuggler and asks him to make her enter the northern country illegally to achieve the American dream.
