A 19-year-old drifter named Pascal, who has dropped out of his apprenticeship and drifts aimlessly, is sent to Swiss basic military training, where he finally discovers recognition, responsibility, and camaraderie for the first time. However, after his discharge, repeated rejection from employers and the absence of his girlfriend lead to mounting frustration…and eventually a violent outburst with tragic consequences.
