Nesim is an elderly Afghan cyclist. Nesim's son settled in Istanbul years ago and lives there. Nesim receives news that his son, who is about to get married, has gone missing before the wedding and sets out to find him. He enters Turkey via illegal and dangerous routes along the border, traveling with refugees. After losing his friends at the border, Nesim takes refuge in a border village in Turkey, where he witnesses the love between shepherd Mustafa and Zelal. Upon learning of Nesim's arrival in Turkey, the mafia seeks to exploit the situation and sends its men to track him down. Shepherd Mustafa finds himself caught between protecting Zelal, whom he loves, and Nesim and the criminals.

A young art teacher hopes to be transferred to Istanbul after completing his mandatory duty in a remote village school in Anatolia. After accusations of inappropriate contact with a student surface, his hopes of escape fade and he descends further into an existential crisis.

A stagnant and gloomy village in the 1980s. Reyhan, Nurhan, and Havva, three sisters were sent to town as 'besleme' (foster child and maid). Since they fail their foster parents for different reasons, they are sent back to their father's house in their poor village. Deprived of their dreams of a better life, they try to hold on to each other.
