Rebellious teen Roxy is on probation, and as part of a new government initiative, she’s been court-ordered to move in with a "model" family to start her "rehabilitation" process. As Roxy navigates the dynamics between stern matriarch Mildred, her professional "Thought Organizer" June-Marie, and Mildred’s milquetoast centrist newspaper columnist husband Brooks, she discovers underlying conflict related to Mildred and Brooks’ children from previous marriages – Eli, Books’ aspiring preacher son and self-described "Virgin Warrior", and Hillary, Mildred’s pompous head-cheerleader daughter.
