The Magnificent Dope (1942)

A documentary about the legendary and influential comedian, actor and writer, who went out from the BBC to conquer Hollywood, but sadly the system quickly withdrew its support when they couldn't contain his talents. This portrait is spiked with many comments from people who knew Feldman privately or had dealt with him professionally. His early death sadly rendered him all but forgotten by the public. The compilation consists of interviews, some film clips and photos as well as various audio clips from him.

One of the pilots name Li Shuai, on board TCS Macau, discovers a jump point that of some sort of space tunnel that leads directly to earths core. After a brutal attack on the pilots, Li Shuai managed to escape through the tunnel and crash land on an unknown planet, with no idea where he is, at the same time a convoy of 200 passengers waiting for a signal to land on earth. But unknowingly there might be a traitor among them.

Alix Cléo Roubaud, a photographer, describes her images to Eustache’s son Boris. An “essay in the shape of a hoax”, Eustache’s last film wittily questions the relationship between showing and telling as it gradually shifts Alix’s narration out of sync with what we see.
