Leo is a single, womanizing guy who lives day to day in a tiny beach town in the Canary Islands. One day one of his old flings, Julia, reappears to leave a baby of a few months in his arms and she disappears at the next morning.

A successful lawyer, with a new wife and infant, agrees to care for his teenage son from a previous marriage after his ex-wife becomes concerned about the boy's wayward behavior.

In a small suburb on the outskirts of Rome, the cheerful heat of summer camouflages a stifling atmosphere of alienation.
