The F-Word is a romantic comedy about a man named Ned. Ned has a pet goldfish, a clumsy love of Latin music and a crush on a girl named Penelope. Ned and Penelope get along well but to his great frustration, Penelope has put him in the friend zone. Ned wants to escape this friendly fate; he aspires a more intimate path. So he writes her a story. Ned makes up characters that directly relate to his relationship with Penelope, and these characters interact as the story is being written. His plan is to give her the note so she may accept him as more than a friend. In this process he finds the true girl of his dreams.

Stanley Ford leads an idyllic bachelor life. He is a nationally syndicated cartoonist whose Bash Brannigan series provides him with a luxury townhouse and a full-time valet, Charles. When he wakes up the morning after the night before - he had attended a friend's stag party - he finds that he is married to the very beautiful woman who popped out of the cake - and who doesn't speak a word of English. Despite his initial protestations, he comes to like married life and even changes his cartoon character from a super spy to a somewhat harried husband.
