The Color of Paradise (1999)

When an ostrich-rancher focuses on replacing his daughter's hearing aid, which breaks right before crucial exams, everything changes for a struggling rural family in Iran. Karim motorbikes into a world alien to him - incredibly hectic Tehran, where sudden opportunities for independence, thrill and challenge him. But his honor and honesty, plus traditional authority over his inventive clan, are tested, as he stumbles among vast cultural and economic gaps between his village nestled in the desert, and a throbbing international metropolis.

The film follows three Palestinian refugees brought together by dispossession and hope for a better future. Hiding in the tank of a truck, the men attempt to make their way across the border into Kuwait, the "promised land."

In his award-winning debut feature film, director Ahmet Ulucay portrays the innocence of childhood and the lure of the cinema for two teens in a small Turkish village. Working for a watermelon seller by day, Remet spends his evenings trying to rebuild a film projector with his friend Mehmet. Both have big dreams to be famous film directors one day.

Documentary tribute to the Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez produced in 1977 consisting of archive images of the singer during his visit to Paris in September 1974, joined by fictional scenes which take the form of a journalistic investigation. A little-known film in the filmography of Ahmed Rachedi who during this Parisian period will direct another feature film that we would very much like to see again: "A Finger in the Gear" (1973), on a screenplay by Rachid Boudjedra. The credits and some images of "La chanson de l'Adieu", released in France in December 1981 in the famous Luxor hall in Paris where more than 5,000 spectators came to see it.

Hacer recently joined a factory where Hasan works and brings hope to her life. The two get married. Hacer is worried about the working conditions in the factory; she has a relationship with Hasan after she establishes a relationship with the union. Because of their disagreements, they are driven towards disaster.

Turtles Can Fly tells the story of a group of young children near the Turkey-Iraq border. They clean up mines and wait for the Saddam regime to fall.
