Daijoji is an ordinary office worker. One day, when he returns home from a business trip, he witnesses his wife Miki having an affair with a stranger. The next morning, he finds divorce papers on the table and his wife has left home. Meanwhile, at work, he is in charge of restructuring in the HR department, and today he is once again feeling embarrassed as he announces the dismissal of his fellow employees. Covered in both personal and professional pain, Daijoji heads to a jazz bar on his way home to soothe his soul. There, he meets a refined woman named Chiharu, and they hit it off over a conversation about jazz, leading to a night together...
