Told through somatic performance, oral prose, and solfeggio frequencies, Practical Portals is an experimental, moving-image series documenting a journey of embodied healing. Guided by the natural elements, each of the five vignettes welcomes viewers into an interior portal to reimagine belonging, memory and ancestry. This work asks: What do I need to remember?

Five train passengers are joined by a mysterious fortuneteller who offers to read Tarot. A quintet of stories unfold: an architect returns to his ancestral home to find a vengeful werewolf; a doctor suspects his new wife is a vampire; an intelligent vine takes over a house; a jazz musician plagiarises music from a voodoo ceremony; and a pompous art critic is pursued by a disembodied hand.

During their last year at an Ivy League college in 1999, a group of friends and crew teammates' lives are changed forever when an army vet takes over as coach of their dysfunctional rowing team.
