Athletic is the fourth in the Pin Ups series that highlights Bel Ami's athletic guys - the sporty types you see running around the park with their shirts off and bodies glistening. The boys you see at the gym every afternoon working up a sweat on the bike and building those biceps on the rowing machine. The hunks you can imagine competing at the next gay Olympics. There's not enough room here to describe all 14 of these young Adonis's, but there is surely something here to please everyone. Dark haired gods, blonde beauties, smooth guys and hairy guys, but most noticeable of all, their big cocks.

Marlon Riggs, with assistance from other gay Black men, especially poet Essex Hemphill, celebrates Black men loving Black men as a revolutionary act. The film intercuts footage of Hemphill reciting his poetry, Riggs telling the story of his growing up, scenes of men in social intercourse and dance, and various comic riffs, including a visit to the "Institute of Snap!thology," where men take lessons in how to snap their fingers: the sling snap, the point snap, the diva snap.
