The director shows the evolution of the visual arts at the beginning of the 20th century from Fauvism to geometric abstraction using Mondrian's paintings as an example. The artist's philosophical journey into abstraction, which for Mondrian was a confirmation of the superiority of the mind over the senses. The artist's works are woven into the turbulent history of the early 20th century, full of historical events and civilizational changes.

Her lover's face melts off, she dons a dress from the shadow of a bell and becomes a dandelion, ants crawl out of a hand and become Frenchmen riding bicycles. Not to mention the turtles with faces on their backs that collide to form a ballerina, or the bizarre baseball game.
