Benő Karácsony's best-known and most famous novel, The Sunny Side, was written in 1936. Its protagonist is Kázmér Felméri, at first a forced clerk, then a bumbling miller and talented sculptor, who, with his own unique outlook on life, lives his life in the greatest possible inner freedom among the typical characters of his small town in the typical milieu of the time.
