A married woman with a lovely daughter lives a carefree life, until she meets her ex-lover at a friend’s wedding. They haven’t seen each other in ten years, but they begin an affair.

A fictional character, Rasmus Nielsen, travels around the country, first as a traveling teacher, later in other positions, and through his experiences we are introduced to the conditions of various population groups. The central figure in the portrayal of historical figures is the politician Orla Lehmann.

Ángela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the firemen, manages to make it out alive. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days.
