Kodrat feels the loss after his friend, Solikhin, is shot dead by the police. They both come from poverty and are brought up in an orphanage. In return, they always donate the money they earn from their crimes to the orphanage. Kodrat wants revenge but his boss gives him an order to execute Solikhin’s girlfriend, Susy. He is not willing to do it. Instead, he brings Susy to the police, and goes to the orphanage to give away everything he owns. Mustakin, the patron of the orphanage, reveals Kodrat’s identity. He also tells Kodrat that the person who shot Solikhin is Sofyan, a friend from the orphanage. The bloody climax is inevitable, and the patron who tries to intervene becomes a victim.

The story of a gang of children growing up in a community of banished criminals, in a forgotten corner of the former Soviet Union. This community rejects the world outside. The only law it obeys… is its own. Against this backdrop two best friends, Kolyma and Gagarin, gradually become fierce enemies as they find themselves on opposite sides of the strict code of honour of the ‘honest criminal’ brotherhood.
