In the early 1970s, Yusof with his wife and children migrated to Kuala Lumpur from a village in Terengganu. Their new life began in a place called Kampong Bharu. Despite the various challenges and hardships he went through, Yusof was determined to do anything to give comfort to his family. So much so that he was willing to work as a Pencacai (excrement transporter) with Tauke Ah Lai until he was looked down upon and disgusted by the Malays who lived there.

Michael Spurlock decides to trade in his corporate sales career to become a pastor. Unfortunately, his first assignment is to close a country church and sell the prime piece of land where it sits. He soon has a change of heart when the church starts to welcome refugees from Burma. Spurlock now finds himself working with the refugees to turn the land into a working farm to pay the church's bills.

Anthropology Professor Robert Orwell Sutwell and his secretary Marianne are studying the sex habits of teenagers. The surfing teens led by Frankie and Dee Dee don't have much sex but they sing, battle the motorcycle rats and mice led by Eric Von Zipper and dance to Dick Dale and the Del Tones.
