In preparation for his daughter's wedding, dentist Sheldon Kornpett meets Vince Ricardo, the groom's father. Vince, a manic fellow who claims to be a government agent, then proceeds to drag Sheldon into a series of chases and misadventures from New York to Central America.

Last Stand is a filmed account of the final concert appearance by Australian rock band Cold Chisel. It was filmed on 13 and 15 December 1983 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and released to cinemas in July 1984. It was then remixed, re-edited with additional footage and re-released on DVD in October 2005. When brash Texas border officer Mike Norton wrongfully kills and buries the friend and ranch hand of Pete Perkins, the latter is reminded of a promise he made to bury his friend, Melquiades Estrada, in his Mexican home town.
