From: [email protected] (Mike Williams) To: [email protected] [...] As one of the main "actors" in "Erlang the Movie", I absolutely and categorically forbid its showing *anywhere*. If there was a competition for "turkey" short movies, I think we would win hands down. So, please, please, please, forget we made that retched film in 1990!

A factory worker in a dark, gray world assembles devices that promise happiness. In his spare time he tinkers to create something better, and finally succeeds in perfecting his invention, which allows people to see life through rose-colored glasses, but he has to pay a price for his success.

Inspired by an Andrew Marvell poem, George Dunning sketched short phrases of animated movement on index cards, which were then stuck to a table top and filmed. Animation bared to the bone, and still extraordinary.
