At a work Christmas dinner, Irene, a Spanish woman who learned English with the aim of succeeding professionally abroad, feels invisible in a conversation where her colleagues only ask superficial questions. Irene does not feel heard and begins to reflect on her place in a world marked by inequality and the importance of recognizing privileges she could not appreciate before.
