A well-known jeweler in the city once made an unusual key for his son in the form of a beautiful gold ornament. He always uses this key to lock something very valuable to him in his bank deposit box. Fate is unpredictable, so the jeweler dies and his son Sasha ends up in prison. Thanks to Sashko's easygoing nature, his two friends in misfortune, Stas and Bonia, get their hands on 100 kilograms of gold. So when Sashko is released from prison, instead of looking for his father's killer and the key that was stolen from him, he has to deal with his debt problems. However, this becomes increasingly unrealistic: the mayor and a couple of strange criminal groups join the race for the key and the gold. Possession of the key to success does not necessarily mean success itself.

The hunt for imperial gold continues. A priceless scepter, a treasure that could secure a worry-free life in sunny Rio de Janeiro for Ibrahim Bender and his young apprentice Ostap, has slipped from under their noses and ended up in possession of Nestor Makhno, an anarchist army commander. Makhno is convinced that the scepter is one of many imperial relics hidden in the area. With mafia, partisans, and officers of the Red and White armies all determined to get their hands on the fabled gold cache, Ostap and his mentor Ibrahim must surpass their own brilliance to outmaneuver their rivals and snatch the prize. And with Ostap’s beloved fair maiden losing her trust in him, he must do everything in his power to win her back and stop her from marrying another man.

When a young soldier, newly returned from war, gets caught up in a drug bust, he is recruited by the authorities to go undercover in a notoriously dangerous prison in order to figure out what is really going on.
