Three women in their late thirties, one with marital problems, one trying to be perfect, and a spinster, discuss their relationship to men.

Vincent, a triumphant forty-something, is about to become a father for the first time. Invited to dinner at the home of Élisabeth and Pierre, his sister and brother-in-law, he reunites with Claude, a childhood friend. While awaiting the arrival of Anna, his eternally late wife, he is pressed with questions about his impending fatherhood, all in good humor... But when Vincent is asked if he has already chosen a name for his unborn child, his answer plunges the family into chaos.

Framed as a mother’s bedtime narration to her child, this short documentary observes a city at night, revealing the factories, tram depots, and essential services that operate while most people sleep. Directed by Andrzej Wajda, the film turns nocturnal labor into a quiet civic portrait, emphasizing the unseen workers whose efforts sustain daytime life.

Nathalie and Louise are friends from childhood. While studying drama at University Louise becomes hopelessly obsessed with her friend. Jealous of the male friends she has she breaks up the friendship, followed by a suicide attempt. Later, Louise marries, but finds time to see the, by now quite accomplished actress, Nathalie. They fight through the years, La Repetition following them as their friendship comes together and breaks up frequently, while never actually reaching anything that can be called a climax.

However, he's a lonely man, until he meets Clara, a beautiful and exciting woman, and deeply falls in love with her. All his loneliness turns into joy... but then he learns something that makes it all extremely complicated.

The drama called I Love, You Love was made in 1980 but because of the absurd ideological ban, the film entered cinemas nine years later. Pišta is an unmarried man who works at a freight wagon which carries letters and parcels. Alcohol helps him to overcome his handicap of being short and not good-looking. He wishes he had a woman, but the woman he really wants, ageing Viera who reloads the cargoes, has a soft spot for another man. So, Pišta has nobody and nothing, except for senile mother who sometimes fails to recognize him. The film received Silver Bear for Best Director at the International Film Festival in Berlin.

Karel and Saša's marriage has reached a dead end, so Saša moves out of the house for a while. She finds temporary refuge with Dušan, an old acquaintance who once played at their wedding. Both of them, sometimes together, sometimes separately, explore the elusive topic of relationships and shed light on it from their opposite perspectives.

Lucie is in remission and her illness is almost a distant memory. Her family pushes her to live life to the fullest, and in doing so Lucie meets the charming and arrogant Clovis, who is immediately beguiled by her wit and humor. It is Dalila, however, an eccentric and delightful dance teacher, who inspires Lucie to rebuild her life and to grow into the woman she always wanted to be.
