“When Will My Daughter Come Back Home?”
Filmmaker Wen Wen films herself making her semi-autobiography, to analyze and empathize with her mother's pain. She films an Asian daughter running away from her family, unsure where to go. Not answering her weeping mother's calls and engaging in promiscuous behavior to obtain money or to spite the mother, the daughter then seeks refuge in her friend Gabrielle's home. While Gabrielle falls in love with a Chinese man that the daughter previously encountered, the daughter wishes for her mother to divorce her father. It remains a question of whether both the daughter and Filmmaker Wen Wen will return to her family.
