Barbara and Matteo are two Italians who live in Miami, managing a small restaurant overlooking the sea. Barbara is pregnant and the happy event brings their respective parents together in Miami: Massimo, Matteo's father, who has recently become a widower and has a hotel in Cortina, and Angela, Barbara's mother, who instead has a chain of restaurants and is separated from her husband. At first, the incompatibility between the two is sky-high. Then, while events, misunderstandings and plots of various kinds revolve around them, the ice slowly begins to break and affinities emerge when the two find themselves busy restoring peace between their children, who have entered into a crisis due to the birth of the little girl.

Relationship Therapist, Dr. Jill Peterman, had the highest-rated call-in radio show when her world was pulled out from under her following the on-air suicide of a female caller named Alexis. Shaken to her core, Dr. Jill walked away from her show vowing she would never go back. That is until Stuart, the station's General Manager, pleads with her to reboot the show in an effort to bring followers back to the station. Still haunted by what happened, Jill agrees to help her friend out and believes this will be the perfect remedy to put her year-long anxiety to rest. As Jill starts to settle back into her show, mysterious call-ins start happening forcing her to believe there could be a copy-cat out there. What Jill begins to uncover is a web of secrets and lies stemming from the mysterious voice she has come to know as Alexis.

On December 12, 1969, a bomb kills 17 people at the Piazza Fontana national bank in Milan, Italy, marking the beginning of the Years of Lead. Local anarchists are scapegoated for the massacre by police and the media, but a lone prosecutor uncovers a conspiracy of far-right groups, corrupt secret services, and other interests that seek to undermine democracy.

Island farmer Banana Joe helps the local community by trading his bananas for goods. When gangsters arrive with plans to construct a banana processing plant, Joe kicks them out, but the mob boss discovers that Joe is operating without a license. After the mob tips off the authorities and Joe's boat is impounded, he ventures into a big city for the first time to seek help.
