Johana is one of many migrants on the Balkan route trying her luck in hopes of reaching Europe. Along the way, she meets another girl, slightly older Moldovan Alina, with whom she forms a bond vital to her survival. Once in Italy, they find themselves caught in the prostitution racket, with all its brutality. On a night when everything happens at once, Johana crosses paths with Lorenzo, a middle-aged taxi driver from Friuli, whom she kidnaps and forces to drive her toward Austria to cross the border.
