A Little Chaos (2015)

Biographer Margaret Lea travels to the isolated rural mansion of the famous writer Vida Winter, who asks her to write her biography. Although initially she is reluctant, as Vida is known for constantly distorting the facts of her life, Margaret soon becomes fascinated with the story of a dark childhood, a disturbing tale that leads her to finally confront the traumas of her own past.

Nellie, née Bouchard, is divorced by wealthy Jack Givens because after a miscarriage even in vitro fails to overcome her infertility. She finds herself destitute as her own account were plundered by someone who stole her maiden identity, Eleanor Kendall. It may seems depressing, but Marie doesn’t give up, even if love seems to be an inaccessible dream. But love, there is. We can feel the affection of this mother for her troublesome child, thanks to Mathilde Seigner, who gives an astonishing performance. A subtle directing, a strong and captivating story, in short: a must see.
