A Child's Christmases in Wales (2009)

Two teenagers are playing by night in a dirty parking lot. After they are driving on an empty road, they start to tease each other on the way to the sea, but they seem to be too young to drive and the road is a bit strange.

Soldiers from the Military Police stand at the counter of a decadent diner, where they can eat greasy food without paying the bill. When they discuss their violent job in one of the biggest cities in the world, they make it clear who, in the name of the law, is allowed to commit the most hideous crimes.

In this amusing antiwar comedy, seven inept and reluctant soldiers land on a desert island to carry on with the fighting. Just after their parachutes have collapsed behind them on the beach, helicopters approach and land nearby. Out pops a bevy of beautiful women sent to entertain the troops, which they do, and then they leave. From that point onward, there are a series of misadventures

This film explores what it’s like to be awake against one’s will and the feelings of despair and loneliness that accompany the passing of time. The story is told through the protagonist’s eyes as we drift in a state between wakefulness and sleep through the city at night. The abstract and poetic imagery takes us deeper into the vicious circle of someone's struggle with sleeplessness.
